The revolutionary new Revoluto is the world’s first line array microphone for the digital conference market. The unique ’corridor characteristic’ offers a greater width and depth of field than a conventional gooseneck microphone design, allowing the speaker exceptional freedom of movement without fading in and out.
“The sense of freedom is fantastic’, says John Midgley, Managing Director of beyerdynamic GB Ltd. ‘Most people find it much easier to talk in front of the Revoluto. Without a gooseneck pointing at you there’s a much more natural feel to public speaking. We are confident that this product will be one of the biggest advances we’ve seen in the conference market for quite some time“.
Revoluto is not just a wide-angle pick-up microphone unit. It also features all of the function buttons needed for complex Voting scenarios and Simultaneous Translation, high quality integral loudspeakers and a clear LCD for information display.
Used within beyerdynamic’s new MCS-Digital wired conference network, it is possible to operate up to 1,400 Revoluto stations and 53 broadcast quality audio channels via its advanced all-digital NetRateBus control system.

The MCS-D-3121 delegate microphone unit is equipped with a microphone button and a two-way loudspeaker system. The operating mode of the microphone unit can be configured through the MCS-D 200 control unit or using iCNS software.
In the standard mode (free switching on possible) the participant can use the microphone button to switch the microphone on and off. The LED on the microphone button signals that the microphone is ready to be used. If the maximum number of active microphones has been reached, the LED will only flash for a short time and the delegate must press the button once more.
In the conference system's activation mode, the microphone button is used for entering a request to speak. This request is visually displayed by the flashing LED on the microphone button. Once the microphone has been enabled by the PC/media controller user or the president microphone unit, the LED stops flashing and is continuously lit. The delegate can deactivate the unit again by pressing the microphone button once more. If the maximum number of active microphones has been reached, the LED will only flash for a short time and the delegate must activate their microphone once again.

In automatic mode, the participant's request is registered once the maximum number of active microphones has been exceeded. If a participant switches off their microphone, the microphone unit is switched on automatically If the maximum number of possible registrations has been reached, the LED will only flash for a short time and the delegate must activate the unit once again.
In FiFo (first in first out) mode, the delegates speak in succession. A delegate can use the microphone button to switch on their microphone. If the maximum number of open microphones is exceeded, the microphone of the speaker who has been speaking the longest is switched off.
A noticeable feature of the integrated loudspeaker is its accurate and intelligible sound. If the participant switches on their microphone, their own loudspeaker is switched off.
The microphone array technology with integrated microphone capsules possess so-called corridor characteristics which ensure that the speaker is guaranteed a wide range of good voice quality. The speaker can move freely, i.e. can stand up or sit down, can turn, tilt or raise their head and move towards or away from the microphone unit.
Power is supplied to the microphone unit via the bus cable. As part of the MCS-D 200 conference system, the microphone system can be employed at any position in the bus network.
